The non-profit certificate authority Let’s Encrypt, community-controlled and providing certificates free of charge to anyone who wants, has announced its transition to using the NTP server ntpd-rs, written in Rust with a focus on security and stability. The ntpd-rs package was developed as part of the Prossimo project, which is advancing under the auspices of the ISRG (Internet Security Research Group), the founder of the Let’s Encrypt project, contributing to the promotion of HTTPS and the development of technologies to enhance internet security.
