On September 30, the Ladybird browser surpassed the Servo engine for the number of successfully completed tests from the web-platform-tests suite, which determine compatibility with the reference web platform. Specifically, Servo successfully passed 1,303,211 checks, Ladybird \u2014 1,518,672, Firefox 131 \u2014 1,805,845, Safari 204dev \u2014 1,812,433, Chromium 131 \u2014 1,862,747. The web-platform-tests are developed within the Interop initiative, jointly promoted by Google, Mozilla, Apple, Microsoft, Bocoup, and Igalia, aimed at validating the implementation level of web technologies in browsers and identifying discrepancies that affect the appearance and behavior when processing websites. <\/p>\n
The Ladybird browser is being developed by Andreas Kling, who once worked at Nokia and was involved in Safari development. Initially, the project was created as an application for the SerenityOS operating system, but this summer it was spun off into a separate project and received a donation of 1 million dollars.
