The release of the Cage 0.2 composite server is now available, utilizing Wayland and designed for the isolated launch of individual applications in kiosk mode. Notable use cases for Cage include creating home automation systems, demonstration stands, electronic billboards, and self-service terminals. The interface in Cage is limited to a single application, and the user cannot exit this application or access the operating system. The screen is bound to one output device, and all auxiliary dialogues are displayed centered on the screen without the ability to move or resize.
