The reason for their removal was stated simply as 'various compliance requirements.' It was also noted that developers could be reinstated on the maintainer list if certain documentation is provided.    <\/p>\n<p>Geert Uytterhoeven, the maintainer of the Linux port for the m68k architecture, pointed out that the wording is too vague and since the kernel is an open project, it would be good to clarify what is meant by 'various compliance requirements' and what specific documentation needs to be provided for reinstatement. He also expressed concern that such removals without clear rules open the door for further abuses.
