The developers of the Arch Linux distribution have announced their decision to translate all source code components used to form packages, such as PKGBUILD files, .install, and .desktop, to the 0BSD license, which can be regarded as an equivalent to a public domain dedication. Previously, the source code of package build scripts in Arch Linux was distributed without indicating a license, leading to uncertainty, allowing various interpretations of their usage, and creating issues when wanting to use them in other projects with strict licensing policies. <\/p>\n

Starting today, Arch Linux developers will begin receiving emails listing their contributions. If a developer agrees to distribute their work under the 0BSD license, they can simply ignore the email; however, if there are objections, they should indicate them in a reply and discuss possible options.
