The goal of the project is to create a cross-platform engine with open source code that is fully compatible with the original Medal of Honor, for modern Windows, Linux, Raspberry Pi, MacOS, and chromeOS systems.<\/p>\n<p>The OpenMoHAA project is based on the source code of ioquake3, as the original Medal of Honor used the Id Tech 3 engine (that is, the engine from Quake 3) as its base.<\/p>\n<p>What's new:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Native support for MacBook on Apple Silicon has been added. Now OpenMoHAA is natively available on both Intel Macs and Macs with M1\/M2\/M3\/M4.<\/li>\n<li>Three launchers have been added for convenience and simplicity: for launching Allied Assault and its add-ons Spearhead and Breakthrough.<\/li>\n<li>Video instructions for Spearhead and Breakthrough, as well as an introductory video to the game, are working.<\/li>\n<li>Rendering\n<ul>\n<li>better lighting;<\/li>\n<li>decals\/level markings are now displayed;<\/li>\n<li>dynamic lighting is now displayed correctly, no more issues with ground flickering when shooting rockets;<\/li>\n<li>entities are now better lit by spherical light sources (some artifacts are still present);<\/li>\n<li>sun flares are now visualized.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Audio system and effects improvements.<\/li>\n<li>Script engine fixes and improved mod support.<\/li>\n<li>Strange motion artifacts when starting have been fixed <a class=\"wpil_keyword_link\" href=\"https:\/\/prohoster.info\/en\/server\/dts-los-angeles\/\"   title=\"server\" data-wpil-keyword-link=\"linked\"  data-wpil-monitor-id=\"3949\">server<\/a> on ARM.<\/li>\n<li>A bug that prevented mods from loading properly has been fixed.<\/li>\n<li>Demos are now supported by running +set com_target_demo 1 from the command line.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Audio:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A 'tmvolume' has been added so single-player scripts can adjust music volume.<\/li>\n<li>Environmental sounds should now play correctly on all maps.<\/li>\n<li>A crash when the sound quality was set to a value lower than High (which means 44 kHz) has been fixed.<\/li>\n<li>A bug that caused some sounds to loop indefinitely has been fixed. This mainly occurred when loading a saved game.<\/li>\n<li>Fixes background ambient sounds being muted upon restarting after an intermission (this is a bug from the original game).<\/li>\n<li>Ambient sound is now fully reset on each map, meaning that ambient sounds from previous maps will not be heard (this is a bug in the original game).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Client:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>As a security measure, stufftext commands (commands that the server wants clients to execute) are now filtered so that only certain stufftext commands are allowed, preventing any changes from a remote server.<\/li>\n<li>A fuse timer has been added (similar to Medal of Honor: Spearhead and Breakthrough).<\/li>\n<li>Support for testemitter has been added for creating emitters.<\/li>\n<li>Animations now play smoothly; a smaller time scale will no longer cause significant animation lag (a problem in the original game).<\/li>\n<li>In mohaas\/mohaab mode, the team's radar icon should now blink when a teammate speaks.<\/li>\n<li>It is now possible to move and play voices from the in-game voice menu.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Game module:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A server feature has been added to configure in-game text messages and instant messages.<\/li>\n<li>A server feature has been added to prevent team imbalance.<\/li>\n<li>Instant breakthrough messages have been added.<\/li>\n<li>Navigation has been fixed.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Rendering:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Support for dynamic lighting has been added for landscapes.<\/li>\n<li>Lighting for smoke effects has been added.<\/li>\n<li>Support for lens flares and glare has been added.<\/li>\n<li>Dynamic lighting is now displayed correctly and no longer causes rendering artifacts across the space.<\/li>\n<li>A crash that could occur in landscape code on some platforms has been fixed.<\/li>\n<li>A bug that caused static models to be incorrectly culled\/hidden has been fixed.<\/li>\n<li>Strange deformation of water and oceans has been fixed.<\/li>\n<li>A level marking system has been implemented: loading the DCL file, decals, protector decals, and terrain markings.<\/li>\n<li>Overall lighting has been improved. Objects should now be lit correctly (some issues may still arise).<\/li>\n<li>JPEG screenshots are now supported using the screenshotJPEG command.<\/li>\n<li>Sky seams and similar graphical artifacts should no longer be visible on most configurations.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>GUI:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A bug has been fixed that caused the game to freeze on the loading screen if there was no 'continue' button on the loading screen.<\/li>\n<li>Fixed errors in the custom UI map rotation list when adding\/applying.<\/li>\n<li>Improved Notepad support in-game.<\/li>\n<li>The user interface no longer freezes when updating\/canceling the list. <a class=\"wpil_keyword_link\" href=\"https:\/\/prohoster.info\/en\/server\/\"   title=\"servers\" data-wpil-keyword-link=\"linked\"  data-wpil-monitor-id=\"1742\">servers<\/a> (this error also occurs in the original game).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>All features have been implemented and have been working in OpenMoHAA since September 2024.
