The distribution is built on the Ubuntu 24.04 package base using its own repository. The project may be useful for enthusiasts looking to create their own environment to transition from LXDE to environments utilizing Wayland. A build for the amd64 architecture (1.1 GB) is prepared for download.  <\/p>\n<p>The environment of the distribution is based on GTK3, a compositing <a class=\"wpil_keyword_link\" href=\"https:\/\/prohoster.info\/en\/server\/dts-los-angeles\/\"   title=\"server\" data-wpil-keyword-link=\"linked\"  data-wpil-monitor-id=\"3896\">server<\/a> Labwc (Lab Wayland Compositor) offers features reminiscent of the Openbox window manager, Sfwbar panel, and spacefm file manager. The distribution includes a minimal number of packages \u2014 recommended applications are suggested for installation during the setup process using the Calamares installer.  <center><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Release of the Lightweight Wayland Desktop Environment U24.04\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/591ad3e36d052027f012cd369c0c2dc5.png\" style=\"display:block;margin: 0 auto;\" \/><\/center>  <\/p>\n<p>Features of the assembly:  <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"l\">  Suitable for resource-constrained hardware (consumes 213 MB of RAM after startup)\n<li class=\"l\">  A patched Labwc is used with a window switcher that supports previews.\n<li class=\"l\">  Additional Sfwbar widgets: network monitoring, temperature, keyboard layout.\n<li class=\"l\">  Thanks to the built-in Sfwbar widgets for configuring Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and sound, it was possible to eliminate heavy components like NetworkManager, Blueman, and Pavucontrol. Configuration is done \u2014 through the corresponding indicators in Sfwbar.\n<li class=\"l\">  The spacefm file manager has been enhanced with plugins that implement a trash can and an interface for mounting without using gvfs.\n<li class=\"l\">  Missing GUI elements are written in bash + Yad or Gtkdialog.
