The driver is available for Linux (ARM64, x86_64), FreeBSD (x86_64), and Solaris (x86_64). NVIDIA 570.x has become the ninth stable branch after NVIDIA opened the components operating at the kernel level. The source codes for the kernel modules nvidia.ko, nvidia-drm.ko (Direct Rendering Manager), nvidia-modeset.ko, and nvidia-uvm.ko (Unified Video Memory) from the new NVIDIA branch, along with the common components used that are independent of the operating system, are hosted on GitHub. The firmware and user-space libraries, such as CUDA, OpenGL, and Vulkan stacks, remain proprietary.

Key Changes:

The nvidia-settings control panel has been transitioned to use the NVML library instead of NV-CONTROL for managing GPU frequency and fan speed. The switch to NVML allows nvidia-settings to function in environments based on the Wayland protocol, where it is impossible to use the NV-CONTROL X extension. Some operations that were previously available to unprivileged users will now require elevated privileges.

Support for VRR (Variable Refresh Rate) has been added in multi-monitor configurations, including in Wayland environments. VRR enables adaptive changes to the monitor's refresh rate to ensure smoothness and eliminate tearing during gaming and video playback.

Support for the Vulkan extension VK_KHR_incremental_present has been implemented.

For GPUs that support software frequency adjustment, overclocking settings are enabled by default in the nvidia-settings configurator. Previously, such settings required activation in the configuration file via the «Coolbits» section.

For GPUs based on Ada and newer architectures, energy-saving mode has been disabled for surfaces created via the DRM Dumb-Buffers API (e.g., when using DRM fbdev). This change resolved issues with black screens appearing when rendering through the front-buffer instead of switching buffers using KMS.

A parameter ‘conceal_vrr_caps’ has been added to the nvidia-modeset kernel module to manage the activation of features on certain screens, such as LMB (Ultra Low Motion Blur), which are incompatible with VRR (Variable Refresh Rate).

Data reflecting the status of the Dynamic Boost performance enhancement technology has been added to the file /proc/driver/nvidia/gpus/*/power.

In the backend, NVIDIA GBM has compatibility mode enabled for 32-bit applications.

Added the file /usr/share/nvidia/files.d/sandboxutils-filelist.json containing a list of all driver files used in environments based on isolated containers, such as nvidia-container-toolkit and enroot.

Support for suspend-then-hibernate activation via systemd has been added.

By default, the parameters «nvidia-drm modeset=1» and «nvidia-drm fbdev=1» are set, under which the nvidia-drm module (Direct Rendering Manager) will be used as a replacement for the framebuffer-based system console. This change resolves output issues when using a single screen with nvidia-drm and simpledrm drivers.

An experimental interrupt handling mode with minimal latency, which is disabled by default, has been implemented in the display controller. This mode is useful for reducing stuttering in virtual reality systems under high system load. To enable it in the nvidia.ko module, you can use the parameter «NVreg_RegistryDwords=RMIntrLockingMode=1».

Support for building with new Linux kernel releases has been ensured.

A profile has been added to enhance the gaming performance of «Indiana Jones and the Great Circle».

A profile has been added to address screen output issues in the games Assassin’s Creed Valhalla and Assassin’s Creed Mirage.

Performance issues and stuttering experienced while scrolling windows on systems with Wayland and GSP firmware have been resolved.

A bug causing crashes in some applications using the Vulkan graphics API when handling window resizing events has been fixed.

A bug causing crashes in some multithreaded applications using OpenGL in environments based on Xwayland has been fixed. For example, this issue occurred in the game Civilization 6.

Source: opennet.ru

Компания NVIDIA опубликовала стабильный выпуск новой ветки проприетарного драйвера NVIDIA 570.124. Драйвер доступен для Linux (ARM64, x86_64), FreeBSD (x86_64) и Solaris (x86_64).
