Externally, the HONOR X9c and HONOR X9c Smart are very similar, but not identical. The Smart version's look resembles last year's HONOR X9b<\/a><\/noindex> \u2013 at least the camera block is exactly the same, just a bit simpler, without the chrome trim.<\/p>\n

\"New <\/p>\n

And this «we take familiar solutions but make them simpler» applies to much of the smartphone's appearance. Instead of the artificial leather back cover (like on the X9b) \u2013 plastic, but with an interesting texture, a marble-like pattern.<\/p>\n

The edges on the back are beveled, making it quite comfortable to hold a large smartphone. Meanwhile, the front edges are regular, while the curved ones, like on the X9c or X9b, represent a simplification not only compared to last year's smartphone in the series but also to this year's older sibling. There is a comparative advantage, by the way \u2013 the front camera here is singular, without additional sensors, which means it is placed in an individual round hole and takes up less space.<\/p>\n

The third aspect that distinguishes the Smart as a more budget-friendly device against a uniform background is the side power button. It integrates a fingerprint sensor here, whereas on the X9b and X9c we saw on-screen sensors. However, considering that mid-range smartphones are equipped with not the best on-screen sensors (optical, slow, located too close to the bottom edge of the screen), this can also be seen as a plus, even despite the traditionally small area of such sensors.<\/p>\n

\"New \"New <\/p>\n

The dimensions of the HONOR X9c Smart are quite impressive. It is actually slightly thinner than its older brother \u2014 7.9 mm compared to 8 mm. However, it is heavier \u2014 193 grams versus 189. The screen is even larger \u2014 6.8 inches. The body protection is identical. The IP65M rating ensures resistance to water jets under pressure (but it cannot withstand immersion). According to the manufacturer, the tempered glass screen and the protective coating on the back panel can withstand drops from heights of up to 2 meters (I tested it; the smartphone did not break when dropped from my height); it should also resist excessive scratching. However, in terms of temperature resistance, the Smart falls short compared to its older brother \u2014 the latter\u2019s capabilities stem from its silicon-carbon battery, whereas a traditional lithium-polymer battery is installed here.<\/p>\n

The HONOR X9c Smart comes in three color variations: lunar white, midnight black, and ocean blue. We had the latest version with us.<\/p>\n

The functional elements are standard: there is no mini-jack, and I've already mentioned the power button with the fingerprint sensor. At the top, we see an infrared sensor, but there is no speaker grille on the top edge \u2014 the speaker here is actually monophonic.<\/p>\n

\"New <\/p>\n

The HONOR X9c Smart comes with both a power adapter and a case, which is made of transparent silicone in this case.<\/p>\n

\u2193<\/a><\/noindex>#<\/a><\/noindex>Software<\/strong><\/h2>\n

The HONOR X9c Smart runs on Android 14 with the MagicOS 8.0 interface. It's surprising that it uses last year's interface version, whereas even the lower model (HONOR X8c<\/a><\/noindex>) \u2013 already MagicOS 9, but it should be noted that the X9c Smart was presented in China back in December 2024, simultaneously with the 'regular' X9c.<\/p>\n

Naturally, the interface is quite familiar to us, but it does have variations \u2014 usually related to the number of built-in AI features. Here, there are indeed fewer than on the HONOR X9c \u2014 there is a smart app recommendation system based on your preferences, a quick information transfer service between apps via the side panel (Magic Portal), and the ability to erase objects from photos using an 'AI eraser' (the smartphone does this imperfectly, but for a device in the price category under 30,000 rubles, it remains a very interesting option).<\/p>\n
