The release of the libmdbx 0.13.7 (MDBX) library has been published, implementing a high-performance compact embedded key-value database. The libmdbx code is distributed under the Apache 2.0 license. All current operating systems and architectures are supported, including the Russian Elbrus 2000. An extensive API for C++ is offered for libmdbx, along with enthusiast-supported bindings for languages like Rust, Haskell, Python, NodeJS, Ruby, Go, Nim, Deno, and Scala. Projects using libmdbx include Isar, Erigon, and Reth, as well as developments by StarkWare and Positive Technologies. <\/p>\n
Historically, libmdbx is a deep rewrite of the LMDB database and surpasses its predecessor in reliability, feature set, and performance. Compared to LMDB, libmdbx places great emphasis on code quality, stable API operation, testing, and automated checks. It comes with a database structure integrity check utility that includes some recovery options. Technologically, libmdbx offers ACID compliance, strict change serialization, and non-blocking reads with linear scaling across CPU cores. It supports automatic compaction, automatic database size management, and range query estimation. <\/p>\n

A critical bug in the functionality of mdbx_env_resurrect_after_fork() when using SysV semaphores has been fixed. The bug manifested only after spawning a child process via fork() during an ongoing write transaction, leading to incorrect semaphore operation and various errors, including database corruption. The issue existed since the introduction of mdbx_env_resurrect_after_fork() and affected macOS, as well as POSIX platforms when compiled with the MDBX_LOCKING=5 option.\n
An issue in the database copy API, occurring on POSIX systems other than Linux (mainly on macOS), as well as in some cases when the target file was located on a non-local file system, has been resolved. This problem caused the return of error EWOULDBLOCK\/EAGAIN, resulting from a flaw\/conflict in the fcntl(F_SETLK) and flock() locks in the OS kernel. The error handling for file lock acquisition in the copy API on POSIX systems has been revamped.\n
A bug leading to an unexpected return of MDBX_BAD_DBI when starting multiple transactions simultaneously within a single process after opening the database has been fixed.\n
Fixed an error that caused an unexpected MDBX_DBS_FULL return when reopening already opened tables and reaching the limit of open DBI descriptors.\n
Corrected a build error for the Android platform when explicitly defining _FILE_OFFSET_BITS.\n
Corrected the misuse of ENOMEM instead of MDBX_ENOMEM, which could break builds on non-POSIX\/Windows platforms depending on the SDK configuration and\/or version.\n
Fixed or removed several incorrect assert checks that caused crashes in debug builds under specific situations, mainly in the txn_end(), txn_lock(), and txn_unlock() functions on both Windows and POSIX.\n
Resolved minor MSVC warnings. Disabled warnings C5286 and C5287.\n
Refined the logic for rejecting OFD locks on POSIX platforms. Now, in addition to EINVAL, additional error codes (ENOSYS, ENOIMPL, ENOTSUP, ENOSUPP, EOPNOTSUPP) are considered, allowing the built library to operate in some cases where the current kernel\/container\/emulator does not support the required system calls.\n
The test framework has been updated to support the option «—numa <num>» for binding a stochastic test to a NUMA node. An explicit distribution across NUMA nodes has been added to the battery\/tmux script, which significantly improved efficiency when testing on NUMA machines.\n
Implemented random order of execution for individual tests in the stochastic script. <\/ul>\n
