An update for Ubuntu 24.04.3 LTS has been released, which includes changes aimed at improving hardware support, updating the Linux kernel and graphics stack, and fixing errors in the installer and bootloader. Also included are relevant updates for several hundred packages related to fixing vulnerabilities and issues affecting stability. Similar updates have been released for Kubuntu 24.04.3 LTS, Ubuntu Budgie 24.04.3 LTS, Ubuntu MATE 24.04.3 LTS, Lubuntu 24.04.3 LTS, Ubuntu Kylin 24.04.3 LTS, Ubuntu Studio 24.04.3 LTS, Xubuntu 24.04.3 LTS, Edubuntu 24.04.3 LTS, Ubuntu Cinnamon 24.04.3 LTS, and Ubuntu Unity 24.04.3 LTS. <\/p>\n
The release includes some improvements backported from the Ubuntu 25.04 release: <\/p>\n

Packages with Linux kernel version 6.14 are offered (base kernel Ubuntu 24.04 \u2014 6.8). <\/li>\n
Components of the graphics stack have been updated, including Mesa 25.0.7, which has been tested in the Ubuntu 25.04 release. Fresh versions of video drivers for Intel, AMD, and NVIDIA chips have been added. <\/li>\n
Versions of some packages have been updated, such as libreoffice 24.2.6, netplan 1.1.2, mutter 46.2, nautilus 46.2, snapd 2.63.1. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
In desktop builds (Ubuntu Desktop), the new kernel and graphical stack are provided by default. For server systems (Ubuntu Server), the new kernel has been added as an option in the installer. Using the new builds makes sense only for new installations \u2014 systems installed earlier can receive all changes present in Ubuntu 24.04.3 through the standard update installation system. <\/p>\n
It is worth noting that a rolling update support model is used for delivering new versions of the kernel and graphics stack, according to which backported kernels and drivers will only be supported until the next corrective update of the Ubuntu LTS branch. Thus, the Linux kernel 6.14 offered in this release will be supported until the release of Ubuntu 24.04.4, in which the kernel from Ubuntu 25.10 will be proposed. The originally supplied base kernel 6.8 will be supported throughout the entire five-year support cycle. <\/p>\n
