The release of the LibreELEC 12.2 project has been announced, which develops a fork of the OpenELEC distribution for creating home theaters. The user interface is based on the Kodi media center. Images have been prepared for loading from a USB drive or SD card (32- and 64-bit x86, Raspberry Pi 2\/3\/4\/5, various devices based on Rockchip, Allwinner, and Amlogic chips). With LibreELEC, you can turn any computer into a media center, and working with it is no more complicated than using a DVD player or set-top box. The core principle of the distribution is 'everything just works'; to create a fully functional environment, all you need to do is load LibreELEC from a flash drive. Users do not need to worry about keeping the system up to date\u2014the distribution uses an automatic boot and update installation system triggered when connected to the global network. The distribution does not rely on the package base of other distributions and is based on its own developments. In addition to the standard features of Kodi, the distribution provides a number of additional functions aimed at simplifying operations.
