In the nightly builds of Firefox, on which Firefox 146 will be based and released on December 9, testing has begun for the 'Split View' mode to view two tabs side by side in one window. This mode can be enabled via the 'browser.tabs.splitView.enabled' parameter on the about:config page, after which an 'Add Split View' option will appear in the context menu when right-clicking on the tabs. <\/p>\n

When this option is selected for an individual tab, the window content is split into two parts, with the content of the new tab's page opening on the right side. If the option is chosen for a group of two tabs, the specified tabs will be displayed next to each other immediately. In 'Split View' mode, the size of the right and left viewing areas can be adjusted by dragging the divider with the mouse. The active tab is highlighted with a red border during simultaneous viewing.
