The release of the libmdbx 0.13.10 (MDBX) library has been published, featuring a high-performance compact embedded key-value database. The libmdbx code is distributed under the Apache 2.0 license. It supports all relevant operating systems and architectures, including the Russian Elbrus 2000. An advanced API for C++ is offered for libmdbx, along with enthusiast-supported bindings for Rust, Haskell, Python, NodeJS, Ruby, Go, Nim, Deno, and Scala. Notable projects using libmdbx include Isar, Erigon, and Reth, as well as developments from StarkWare and Positive Technologies. <\/p>\n
Historically, libmdbx is a deep rewrite of the LMDB database and surpasses its predecessor in reliability, feature set, and performance. Compared to LMDB, libmdbx places great emphasis on code quality, stable API operation, testing, and automated checks. It comes with a database structure integrity check utility that includes some recovery options. Technologically, libmdbx offers ACID compliance, strict change serialization, and non-blocking reads with linear scaling across CPU cores. It supports automatic compaction, automatic database size management, and range query estimation. <\/p>\n
In December 2025, the main repository of the project was moved from GitFlic to SourceCraft. The reason cited was complaints from non-Russian-speaking users and unaddressed Markdown editor errors over the past three years. There were also reports of the project's mirror on Github being closed, but the repository was later restored with an explanation that this was done at the request of developers from China and Brazil, as well as the Tempo platform using libmdbx. <\/p>\n

An assert check in the bit map scanning path of DBI descriptors leading to rare crashes of 32-bit debug builds has been fixed.\n
A maneuver has been implemented for Android that reduces the likelihood of the system error 'EAGAIN', which occurs due to a lack of system resources and transitional processes when closing and quickly reopening the database.\n
For Linux, measures have been added to prevent the manifestation of errors in the fast_commit implementation of the Ext4 filesystem.\n
A shortcoming in the auto-tuning of parameters when setting geometry with a specified minimum page size, which could lead to an increase in page size on machines with large amounts of RAM, has been corrected.\n
