The ncurses 6.6 release is compatible at the source level with the ncurses 5.x and 6.x branches but extends the ABI. Notable applications built using ncurses include aptitude, lynx, mutt, ncftp, vim, vifm, minicom, mosh, screen, tmux, emacs, and less.      <\/p>\n<p>Among the new features added:  <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"l\"> A new terminal driver for Windows\/MinGW has been proposed, supporting Windows Terminal and providing mouse usage functionality.\n<li class=\"l\"> The capabilities of the infocmp, tic, and tput utilities have been expanded.\n<li class=\"l\"> New code examples and demo applications have been added to the ncurses-examples set.\n<li class=\"l\"> Support has been added for the ghostty, illumos, sun-16color, sun-256color, sun-direct, ms-terminal-direct, pangoterm, rlogin-color, sclp, vt520-w, and vt525-w terminals.\n<li class=\"l\"> Components for linux+lockeys, xterm+r5+lockeys, xterm+r5+fkeys, vt100+pf1-pf4, * vt220+ufkeys, vt220+sfkeys, * ecma+standout, ecma+underline, and wyse+cvis have been implemented.\n<li class=\"l\"> Mouse support has been implemented in ms-terminal, available when using the new Windows driver.\n<li class=\"l\"> Color support has been implemented for the vt525 terminal.\n<li class=\"l\"> The build system capabilities have been expanded.
