The stable version of the GNU Coreutils basic system utility suite 9.10 has been released, which includes programs such as sort, cat, chmod, chown, chroot, cp, date, dd, echo, hostname, id, ln, and ls. <\/p>\n

In man pages and hints displayed when using the option «—help», commands and options are highlighted in bold, and hyperlinks have been added for linking to online guides on the gnu.org site in terminal emulators that support this feature.\n
The behavior of the timeout utility has been modified; it now intercepts the handling of all process termination signals (SIGPIPE, SIGALRM, SIGHUP, etc.) and redirects them to the controlled process, preventing the scenario where the timeout utility can be forcibly terminated while the controlled process continues to execute.\n
The paste utility now supports specifying multibyte characters in the «—delimiters» option.\n
A regression in the cp utility that could cause infinite looping in some situations has been fixed.\n
The size of the executable file has been reduced by 3.2% in the unified build, which provides a single common executable file «coreutils» for all commands, with individual commands created through symbolic links to it. The default build of the ‘kill’ and ‘uptime’ utilities has been discontinued, and they are now only built when specifying the option «—enable-install-program=kill,uptime» in the configuration script. <\/ul>\n
