The ReactOS project reported significant progress in ensuring compatibility with proprietary video drivers. Thanks to a series of fixes and the implementation of the KMDF (Kernel-Mode Driver Framework) and WDDM (Windows Display Driver Model) subsystems, support for approximately 90% of GPU drivers for Windows XP and Windows Server 2003 has been achieved. Previously, the launch of many proprietary drivers either crashed or was unstable. Now, in recent nightly builds of branch 0.4.16, stable operation of drivers from various manufacturers, including Intel, NVIDIA, and AMD, has been observed. <\/p>\n
Among other things, the operation of ReactOS on real hardware has been demonstrated, and it successfully boots with installed drivers for graphics cards such as Intel GMA 945, NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GTS, GTX 750 Ti, and AMD Radeon HD 7530G. Notably, successful operation on mobile graphics, such as NVIDIA Quadro 1000M, is highlighted, where, in addition to 2D\/3D acceleration, sound and network connectivity also function. Additional tests have confirmed functionality on rarer and older configurations, including a laptop with Radeon Xpress 1100, as well as on high-performance graphics cards like NVIDIA GTX Titan X. <\/p>\n
