The Gentoo project has prepared an experimental system image with the GNU Hurd kernel and published scripts for building the image independently and facilitating further development of the Hurd port. Future releases of stage images and automated builds are planned, as well as achieving parity with Gentoo Linux on x86-64 systems. <\/p>\n

In a nod to April Fool's Day, the project announced its transition to using GNU Hurd as the main kernel.
