Red Hat has introduced a new extended paid support program called 'Extended Life Cycle, Premium,' which will provide a 14-year support cycle for the Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8\/9\/10 distribution branches: 5 years of full general updates + 5 years of general updates addressing critical bugs and vulnerabilities (without adding new features and extending hardware support) + 4 years of updates correcting critical issues for paid subscribers. <\/p>\n

Previously, 4 years of additional paid support was provided for the RHEL 7 release, and now this practice is stated for RHEL 8\/9\/10 releases. A feature of the 'Extended Life Cycle, Premium' program is the extension of the additional publication time for updates for intermediate releases (sub-releases RHEL 10.1, 10.2, 10.3, etc.). Updates fixing vulnerabilities with a CVSS severity level of 7 and above, as well as fixing critical bugs for intermediate branches, will now be released over 6 years (previously 2 years of Extended Update plus another 2 years under a separate Extended Extended Update subscription), which will reduce the transitions to new intermediate releases in systems serving continuously operating critical services. <\/p>\n

Long-term support for intermediate releases will be provided through the release. For example, extended updates for the May release RHEL 10.2 will be formed until May 2032, for the November RHEL 10.3 \u2014 until May 2027, and for the May RHEL 10.4 \u2014 until May 2033. The RHEL 10 branch as a whole will be supported until 2039, the RHEL 9 branch until 2036, and RHEL 8 until 2033.

As for other distributions, SUSE Linux is supported for 16 years, Ubuntu for 15 years, Debian GNU\/Linux is supported for 10 years (5 years LTS + 5 years Extended LTS), openSUSE for 2 years, and Fedora Linux for 13 months.
