The next major release, <strong>Linux Mint 23<\/strong>, is now expected only by <strong>the end of 2026.<\/strong>, and the project intends to abandon the previous more frequent release schedule to focus more on development of new features rather than testing and packaging releases.<\/p>\n<p>At the same time, the project also reported another significant change: Linux Mint plans to use the same installer as <strong>LMDE<\/strong>, which means <strong>live-installer<\/strong>. However, the final scheme for future releases has not yet been approved\u2014the team is still deciding what the new cycle will be, whether intermediate versions will remain, and if alpha releases
