Astra Group announces the commercial release of a new product - Astra Migration, a tool for automatic migration from Windows OS to Astra Linux OS. This product allows for the transfer of over 100 workstations simultaneously, accelerating the migration process by dozens of times compared to manual transition. Astra Migration is now available for ordering<\/a> and aims to address one of the key challenges of the Russian IT market - the mass and managed transition of organizations to domestic software.<\/p>\n

Migration is built on a client-server architecture and includes several key components: it facilitates the transfer of user data and settings, ensures compatibility checks for software and hardware, and offers the option to roll back to the original OS if necessary. The current version supports dual-boot mode, allowing Windows and Astra Linux to coexist on one device, with user data and settings being transferred within the supported scenario. The complete OS replacement mode with data transfer will be available in future product updates.<\/p>\n

The client application, Astra Migration App, is centrally installed on the original Windows OS, automatically inventories the workstation - the complete data collection about the hardware and software configuration takes no more than 30 seconds - and informs the user about the migration progress at all stages of the transition with minimal involvement from them.<\/p>\n

The server part provides the administrator with a unified control panel: setting migration scenarios, forming transition waves, real-time monitoring of device statuses, and control of blockers.<\/p>\n

Astra Migration is aimed at a wide range of clients: governmental structures, large businesses, as well as medium and small enterprises seeking to replace Windows OS as conveniently, safely, and effectively as possible.<\/p>\n

The first public demonstration of Astra Migration will take place on April 20, 2026, at the Astra Group booth during the AKPO-Conf conference.<\/a><\/p>\n
