The Fedora Project is considering the introduction of a Verified Participant status, which will highlight developers who have contributed to the project and deserve certain privileges, such as the ability to participate in decision-making. The main reason for the proposed changes is the uncertainty about who can participate in community voting. <\/p>\n
Achieving the status of \u2018Fedora Verified\u2019 will allow participation in voting for the selection of governing boards and nomination for leadership positions involved in decision-making (Fedora Council, FESCo, Mindshare Committee, EPEL Steering Committee). In addition, verified participants may be granted access to additional project resources and educational programs, such as training courses conducted by Red Hat. <\/p>\n
To obtain the \u2018Fedora Verified\u2019 status, a participant must be engaged in the project for at least two Fedora Linux release cycles (6-12 months), make a significant contribution (such as writing code, maintaining packages, preparing documentation, design, fixing bugs, or providing support), earn a positive reputation in the community, and refrain from actions that do not comply with the Fedora Code of Conduct. <\/p>\n
Until May 5, the project is conducting a survey on the feasibility of introducing this special status.
