The messenger now features a guest mode for bots, the ability for bots to communicate with each other, chat automation tools, and a search for over 100 million emojis and stickers. Additionally, Telegram has updated polls and moderation tools.

The main innovation is the so-called guest mode for bots. Now, AI bots can be summoned directly in any personal or group chat — just mention them via @username in the message. After this, the bot can respond in the same chat: for example, find information, generate text or images, verify facts, or perform other tasks. Telegram emphasizes that such bots only access the messages where they were mentioned and do not see the rest of the conversation.

Another important change concerns the interaction between bots themselves. Telegram now allows bots to respond to other bots, paving the way for the creation of entire chains of autonomous AI agents and the automation of workflows. For instance, one bot can collect data, a second can analyze it, and a third can publish the results in the chat, all without human involvement.

Developers have also improved how responses from bots are displayed. Messages can now be shown progressively, as the text is generated — similar to how it works in modern AI chats. Telegram notes that thanks to updates to the Bot API, responses have become faster and feature new animations.

Additionally, Telegram has introduced a chat automation feature. Users can connect a bot to their profile and allow it to respond to messages on their behalf. There’s flexible customization about which chats the bot will have access to — for example, only new dialogues or conversations with unfamiliar users. The settings can be found under the 'Chat Automation' section.

Telegram has also expanded the capabilities of its built-in AI text editor. Now users can create their own styles for the AI message editor by setting a set of instructions for formatting text. These styles can be saved and shared via a link. The company believes this feature will be useful for communities with local memes as well as teams that need to maintain a consistent publication style.

Another notable innovation is the expanded search for emojis and stickers. Telegram claims that users now have access to over 100 million stickers and emojis created by the community. The search works in 36 languages, and AI models based on the Cocoon network are used for automatic tagging and indexing of images.

The update also affects the polling system. Group and channel administrators now have access to interactive voting statistics with graphs showing vote changes over time. However, this feature only works for polls that have received more than 100 votes. Furthermore, it is now possible to restrict participation in polls — for example, allowing only channel subscribers or users from certain countries to vote.

Among the less significant changes are the ability to send delayed messages without sound notifications and new moderation tools. Group administrators can now remove reactions from individual users, and if necessary, remove all reactions from a specific participant at once.

In addition to new features, Telegram reported over 200 fixes and minor improvements across all versions of the app.

Source:

<noindex><a rel="nofollow" href="https://telegram.org"
