Another experimental release has been published Wine 11.10<\/strong> \u2014 compatibility layers for running Windows applications and games on Linux, macOS, and other Unix-like systems. The release came out on May 29, 2026<\/strong> and continues the development branch after the stable Wine 11.0.<\/p>\n

The main change is the upgrade of the built-in library VKD3D<\/strong> to version 2.0<\/strong>. VKD3D is used by Wine to implement Direct3D 12 on top of Vulkan<\/strong>, so this change is primarily important for Windows games and applications that use the Direct3D 12 graphics API.<\/p>\n

Additionally, Wine 11.10 has re-implemented support XPath<\/strong> without using libxml2. This doesn't necessarily mean a complete rejection of libxml2 by Wine, but specifically XPath is now implemented differently, without this dependency in the respective component. The developers have also continued to improve<\/a> compatibility VBScript<\/strong>, which is important for old installers, enterprise software, and applications that use Windows Script Host scripts.<\/p>\n
