The Chatto chat platform, designed for organizing communication within communities and teams of developers, has been moved to the category of open projects. The platform is optimized for maximum interface responsiveness, minimal backend resource consumption, and ease of deployment on a self-hosted infrastructure for group chats, independent of external services. Users can access the platform through a web interface via a browser. The code is written in Go and is released under the AGPLv3 license. <\/p>\n

All personal data and chat history are stored in encrypted form using keys linked to individual users. In addition to text chat, it supports voice and video calls, multimedia message embedding, screen sharing, and end-to-end message encryption. The platform also features full-text search, link previews for external content, user presence detection, status setting capabilities, and role-based access management. <\/p>\n

To add additional functionality and customization, plugins can be used. Centralized login (SSO) can be organized, and integration with corporate systems can be achieved via GraphQL and NATS APIs. Installation is done by executing a self-contained executable file, approximately 70 MB in size, which does not require additional dependencies or external databases. <\/p>\n

The project's state is assessed as sufficiently stable for production use, but not all intended functionality has been implemented yet. For example, the next version, Chatto 0.5, aims to integrate moderation features and the ability to report inappropriate content, as well as to add support for connecting to multiple servers on the client side. A release of Chatto 1.0.0 is planned for 6-12 months, during which time changes that could disrupt backward compatibility may occur.
