Cloudflare has released the code for the Cloudflare OS platform, designed for creating personal applications using vibe coding, as well as for secure operation with these applications and AI agents. The code is written in TypeScript and is distributed under the Apache 2.0 license. <\/p>\n
Cloudflare OS is presented as a kind of operating system for applications developed through AI, where the core role is taken by the workshop-backend package, providing users with access to programs and devices (Gadget and Gatekeeper), facilitating their isolation and ensuring access management. Gatekeepers serve as drivers, linking users and AI agents with external services, while gadgets handle processes, and blueprints (reference templates) are used for executable files. The user interface is implemented through workshop-frontend. <\/p>\n
Cloudflare OS offers an alternative to the SaaS model, where instead of using shared centralized services, users are encouraged to run their own isolated copies of applications. For instance, rather than utilizing services to create a presentation or generate a report, users are given their own instances of applications that can be modified, expanded, or tailored to specific needs with the help of AI.
