Qt 6.12 provides support for Windows 10+, macOS 13+, Linux (Ubuntu 22.04\/24.04, openSUSE 16, SUSE 15 SP6, RHEL 9.6\/10.0, Debian 11.6\/12), iOS 17+, Android 9+(API 23+), webOS, WebAssembly, INTEGRITY, VxWorks, FreeRTOS, and QNX. The source code for Qt components is distributed under LGPLv3 and GPLv2 licenses.     <\/p>\n<p>Qt 6.12 has attained LTS (Long-Term Support) status, with updates to be provided for five years for holders of a commercial license. For non-commercial users, support will be available for six months (until a new significant release is formed). Support for the previous LTS branch, Qt 6.8, will continue until October 2029, while support for the branch before that, Qt 6.5, has been discontinued this year.    <\/p>\n<p>Key changes in Qt 6.12:  <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"l\"> The Qt Canvas Painter module has been recognized as ready for widespread use, providing an API for hardware-accelerated rendering of 2D content and utilizing shaders for creating complex visual effects. Rendering is performed using the RHI (Rendering Hardware Interface) engine, which supports various 3D APIs (OpenGL, Vulkan, Metal, and Direct 3D). Based on Canvas Painter, an experimental Canvas2D element has been implemented, designed with reference to the HTML Canvas 2D Context specification, simplifying the use of JavaScript for drawing shapes.      <center><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/10\/b130355f4d5e4c516d003a11e19eac36.png\" style=\"display:block;margin: 0 auto;\" \/><\/center>\n<li class=\"l\"> An experimental module, StyleKit, has been added, which explicitly separates the structure of user interface components and style attributes, eliminating code duplication when implementing light, dark, and high-contrast themes. StyleKit provides a unified QML API for describing styles, facilitating consistent styling in hybrid applications that combine classic widgets and Qt Quick elements.   <center><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/10\/9d96abe079bff0d8e9549f7ba9de691a.png\" style=\"display:block;margin: 0 auto;\" \/><\/center>\n<li class=\"l\"> The capabilities of the Qt Graphs module have been expanded. New properties for customizing axis labels have been implemented for 2D graphs, along with support for logarithmic axes. Built-in actions for zooming and panning have been added. An option to render using a high-performance backend based on the CanvasPainter module has been included, allowing for the visualization of large volumes of rapidly changing data.\n<li class=\"l\"> Qt Quick has introduced QML types Safe Area, Context Menu, Double Spin Box, and Search Field for displaying unobscured content, context menus, numeric input forms, and search query submission fields. The QML type FlexboxLayout has been expanded to provide responsive layout of interface elements according to the Flexbox concept used in CSS, simplifying vertical alignment of elements.\n<li class=\"l\"> The Vector Image module, which allows the integration of vector images into Qt Quick scenes for creating scalable interface elements, has added additional properties and animation capabilities for SVG and Lottie format images.\n<li class=\"l\"> The QRangeModel class has been enhanced, providing a wrapper over QAbstractItemModel for direct use in interface elements based on QML and Qt Quick for any enumerated types from C++, including std::vector, std::tuples, and std::array. The new version includes support for data sorting, new properties for controlling movement in \"Drag &amp; Drop\" mode, improved search through the match() method, as well as options for headers and individual rows\/elements.\n<li class=\"l\"> The gRPC module has added tools for client-side message compression and limiting the size of incoming messages from <a class=\"wpil_keyword_link\" href=\"https:\/\/prohoster.info\/en\/server\/dts-los-angeles\/\"   title=\"server\" data-wpil-keyword-link=\"linked\">server<\/a>.\n<li class=\"l\"> The QML engine has implemented a Hot Reload mechanism, allowing for live edits of QML code during program execution and observing the results through qmlpreview without restarting or stopping the application.\n<li class=\"l\"> LTS support for the HarmonyOS platform has been provided, simplifying the migration of existing Qt applications to Huawei smartphones, tablets, PCs, and automotive infotainment systems.\n<li class=\"l\"> Requirements of the European Cyber Resilience Act (CRA) have been met, aimed at maintaining product security, promptly addressing vulnerabilities throughout the lifecycle, and disclosing information about vulnerabilities and security incidents. The source code highlights components critically important for security, organizes the publication of security testing information, and ensures the integration of up-to-date versions of third-party
