A group of enthusiasts has created the Xenolith SDK, enabling the development of full desktop applications directly in the browser. This system allows for cross-compiling graphical applications from any supported system to any other. One of the supported systems is WebAssembly, allowing applications to be built for the browser and from the browser for any other platform. The project's source code is written in C++ and is available under the MIT license. <\/p>\n

The environment does not use proprietary SDKs for Windows and macOS; instead, substitutes have been created from open source code or through a clean room method, allowing for the assembly of applications that will run on the target system. All tools are compiled from source code within the environment (Linux and a compiler capable of building GCC 15.2 are required for compilation; the environment will compile everything on its own). An online demonstration is available with a set of examples, including DOOM and a demo version of Heroes of Might and Magic II, which requires no registration, works on a single page, and does not communicate with proxy server<\/a> (data is hosted on AWS CDN).
