One of the screenshots below mentions a limit of six hours per day, but some clarified that sometimes this occurs after two or four hours. Gamers noticed that this depends on the age specified at registration (for those under 18, it is stricter). Developers are likely testing this new feature, as it does not work for everyone (however, it does not seem to be limited to India). Similar measures to combat addiction are implemented in China, where games are allowed for sale only after passing strict censorship.<\/p>\n

As explained by Indian sources, the ban on PUBG Mobile was imposed on March 9 and will be lifted on March 30. Those who violate it are arrested under Article 188 of the Indian Penal Code ('Disobedience to an order duly promulgated by a public servant'). The maximum punishment under this article is imprisonment for up to six months or a fine of up to one thousand rupees. Initially, the ban applied only to two cities in Gujarat state\u2014Rajkot and Surat\u2014but later, authorities from other districts supported the initiative. They believe that PUBG Mobile causes gaming addiction, harms health, and provokes aggressive behavior.<\/p>\n

During the investigation, mobile devices were seized from those taken into custody. According to investigator Rohit Raval, some were so absorbed in the shooter game that they didn't even notice the approach of law enforcement officers. Game addiction is also being considered as a cause of death for a 20-year-old young man.<\/p>\n
