Microsoft announced the Fluent Design System concept a couple of years ago, shortly after the release of Windows 10. Gradually, developers incorporated more and more Fluent Design elements into the 'ten', adding them to universal apps and so on. However, File Explorer had remained traditional, even with the introduction of the ribbon interface. But now, that has changed.<\/p>\n

It is expected that 2019 could be the year when Microsoft finally updates File Explorer and gives it a modern look. Rumors might finally become reality. The fact is, in the fresh insider build 20H1, which will only be released next year, an updated version of File Explorer has appeared, already featuring Fluent Design. The update will likely also improve integration with various Microsoft services.<\/p>\n

It's important to note that this is not the final version. It is possible that the developer company is simply testing the features and gathering feedback from early access program participants. After all, Microsoft has previously introduced new features that then disappeared without reaching release. However, this time, the company may actually update File Explorer.<\/p>\n
