The founder of Opera Software, Jon von Tetzchner, is currently working on the Vivaldi browser, which is positioned as a modern replacement for the classic 'Opera'. Recently, the developers released version 2.4, which allows users to move icons throughout the interface and customize various user profiles. This feature should help when multiple users operate from a single browser. However, von Tetzchner shared more insights in an interview with CNET.<\/p>\n

According to him, everything in the browser can be customized. There are as many as 17 pages with various settings, one of which is solely dedicated to tab configurations. Von Tetzchner is confident that users will appreciate this approach.<\/p>\n

However, what is even more interesting is that the developers have not abandoned the idea of releasing a mobile version of the browser. Work on it is currently underway. Vivaldi for Android and a separate email application are expected to be launched before the end of this year.<\/p>\n

The specialist also promised that the mobile version would be customizable, just like the desktop version. According to von Tetzchner, the mobile browser will surpass similar programs in terms of flexibility, though not immediately. The first version won't have all features right from the start. He also mentioned that the email application still needs some 'polishing', although it is generally ready. Additionally, von Tetzchner explained that such an application is necessary for users who, for various reasons, cannot use web versions of email services. <\/p>\n

At the same time, according to the head of development, Vivaldi will not block ads by default, unlike Brave, for example. However, users will be able to download the necessary extensions themselves. Finally, von Tetzchner stated that the decision to abandon the Presto browser engine (which was the foundation of the classic Opera) is a significant mistake. Nevertheless, he acknowledged that having multiple browsers is better than having just one and praised Firefox for Mozilla's ongoing development efforts.<\/p>\n
