Remember, the functionality of DataGrip is also included in our other paid IDEs, except for WebStorm.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"DataGrip 2019.1: support for new databases, initialization scripts, new inspections, and more\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/1be9a21783bb2ff0a32924387f4dc09b.jpg\" style=\"display:block;margin: 0 auto;\" \/><noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" name=\"habracut\"><\/a><\/noindex><\/p>\n<h2>Support for new databases<\/h2>\n<p>\nIn this release, four databases received official support in our tools:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Apache Hive <\/strong>\u2013 a database management system based on the Hadoop platform.<br \/>\n<strong>Greenplum<\/strong> \u2013 an analytical DBMS for data warehouses based on PostgreSQL.<br \/>\n<strong>Vertica.<\/strong> \u2013 a columnar database for big data analysis.<br \/>\n<strong>Snowflake<\/strong> \u2013 a cloud data warehouse. When it comes to relational databases, Snowflake <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/youtrack.jetbrains.com\/issue\/DBE-3024\">was the most requested<\/a><\/noindex>. In this release, we only supported SQL; introspection will be released later.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"DataGrip 2019.1: support for new databases, initialization scripts, new inspections, and more\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/fb07597ee785e889c0e6c33bdd3e6f1e.jpg\" style=\"display:block;margin: 0 auto;\" \/><br \/>\n<\/p>\n<h2>Connection<\/h2>\n<p>\nWe made changes to the database connection dialog: we aimed to make it clearer and more convenient.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>General<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>\nThis tab mainly underwent refactoring.<\/p>\n<p>Field <strong>Connection type <\/strong>was previously called <strong>URL type <\/strong>and was at the very bottom. However, since the value in this field defines the subsequent process, it is now at the top.<\/p>\n<p>Field <strong>Database<\/strong> placed after entering the username and password, because authentication is needed to display the list of databases by <i>Ctrl\/Cmd+Space<\/i>.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"DataGrip 2019.1: support for new databases, initialization scripts, new inspections, and more\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/28d163dacf839a1e62b939460a0b4630.jpg\" style=\"display:block;margin: 0 auto;\" \/><br \/>\n<br \/>\nIn the comments to the previous post <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/habr.com\/ru\/company\/JetBrains\/blog\/431646\/#comment_19458272\">there was a lot of discussion about<\/a><\/noindex> password saving. We added new options and created a dropdown list. The values in this list are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Do not save the password.<\/li>\n<li>Save until DataGrip restarts (this is how the 'do not save' option used to work).<\/li>\n<li>Save for the session: until you disconnect from the data source.<\/li>\n<li>Save forever.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\n<img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"DataGrip 2019.1: support for new databases, initialization scripts, new inspections, and more\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/d3ac64f06fbb1c4a9768e0f9df85c9a6.jpg\" style=\"display:block;margin: 0 auto;\" \/><br \/>\n<br \/>\nTo avoid confusion, enter an empty password through the context menu.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"DataGrip 2019.1: support for new databases, initialization scripts, new inspections, and more\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/cce51685fb7e69fcb1a85602290d36c4.jpg\" style=\"display:block;margin: 0 auto;\" \/><br \/>\n<br \/>\nResults <i>Test Connection<\/i> now shows directly in the window, with no extra clicks or dialogs.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"DataGrip 2019.1: support for new databases, initialization scripts, new inspections, and more\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/ab63f4163b4a9fc8ecb583e4b2a61c83.jpg\" style=\"display:block;margin: 0 auto;\" \/><br \/>\n<br \/>\nAnd if the drivers are not downloaded, DataGrip will suggest doing so. Previously the button <i>Test Connection <\/i> was disabled in such cases, which confused users.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"DataGrip 2019.1: support for new databases, initialization scripts, new inspections, and more\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/ddad700d0c3f4e6e1274956b421db719.jpg\" style=\"display:block;margin: 0 auto;\" \/><br \/>\n<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Options<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>\nSettings moved from the General tab <em>Read-only<\/em>, <em>Auto-sync<\/em>, <em>Transaction control<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>New<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<p>\u2013 <em>Run keep-alive query every N seconds: <\/em>will ping the data source every N seconds. For databases that we do not support, you can write your own keep-alive query. This is done in the driver settings.<\/p>\n<p>\u2013 <em>Auto-<\/em><em>disconnect<\/em><em> after N seconds<\/em>: the value entered here in seconds will tell DataGrip how long to automatically disconnect from the data source.<\/p>\n<p>\u2013 <em>Startup script<\/em>: Here you can write a query that will execute every time a connection is created. The list items are small pieces of code that you edited or viewed lately. This is useful if you remember the context but not the file name. Now by default <i>Find in Path<\/i> in DataGrip searches everywhere. This means that information about database objects is obtained through queries, rather than through the JDBC driver as before.
