The system environment is formed from stable repositories of Debian and CentOS, and you can additionally install newer versions of software, for example, from Arch Linux\/AUR, as well as compile Gentoo ports. Compatibility with Ubuntu and CentOS is ensured for the installation of third-party proprietary packages at the library level. <\/p>\n

Instead of installation images in Bedrock introduced<\/a><\/noindex> , a script that modifies the environment of already installed standard distributions. For example, it is stated that replacing Debian, Fedora, Manjaro, openSUSE, Ubuntu, and Void Linux works well, but there are specific issues when replacing CentOS, CRUX, Devuan, GoboLinux, GuixSD, NixOS, and Slackware. The installation script prepared<\/a><\/noindex> is available for x86_64 and ARMv7 architectures.<\/p>\n

Execution of distribution-specific commands is done using the strat utility, while management of distributions is handled by the brl utility. For instance, to use packages from Debian and Ubuntu, you first need to set up the corresponding environments with the command \"sudo brl fetch ubuntu debian\". Then, to install VLC from Debian, you can execute the command \"sudo strat debian apt install vlc,\" and from Ubuntu \"sudo strat ubuntu apt install vlc.\" After that, different versions of VLC from Debian and Ubuntu can be launched using \"strat debian vlc file\" or \"strat ubuntu vlc file.\"<\/p>\n

The new release includes support for the current repository of Slackware.
\nThe ability to share the pixmap library between environments has been ensured. Support for resolvconf has been added to unify resolver settings across all environments. Issues with creating the environment for Clear Linux and MX Linux have been resolved.<\/p>\n
