NVIDIA is slowly but surely expanding the list of monitors with Adaptive Sync that are compatible with its own G-Sync technology. These displays are referred to as \u201cG-Sync Compatible,\u201d and according to PCWorld, the next update of the GeForce Game Ready graphics driver will add seven monitors to this list.<\/p>\n

To remind, NVIDIA designates the term G-Sync Compatible to monitors that support Adaptive Sync technology (also known as AMD FreeSync) and have been tested by the company to meet its own G-Sync standards. On these monitors, when connected to NVIDIA graphics cards, the adaptive frame synchronization technology can be used fully, \u201calmost as on monitors with G-Sync.\u201d<\/p>\n

When announcing the G-Sync Compatible initiative, NVIDIA initially listed only 12 monitors that it deemed met the G-Sync standards. However, the company tested over 400 monitors to select them. The list of G-Sync compatible monitors has gradually expanded and currently includes 17 models. The new version of the NVIDIA graphics driver, which will be released next Tuesday, will bring guaranteed G-Sync support to seven more monitors from Acer, ASUS, AOpen, Gigabyte, and LG:<\/p>\n

Adaptive frame synchronization is automatically activated on monitors certified as G-Sync Compatible if the appropriate version of the graphics driver is installed in the system. In fact, it works the same way on monitors with full G-Sync. It's also worth noting that users of Adaptive Sync monitors that do not have NVIDIA's certification can also try to enable frame synchronization manually. However, the technology may work with some limitations or interruptions.<\/p>\n
