Took place<\/a><\/noindex> release of the Linux distribution Peppermint 10<\/a><\/noindex>, based on the Ubuntu 18.04 LTS package base and offering a lightweight user environment based on the LXDE desktop, the Xfwm4 window manager, and the Xfce panel, which replace Openbox and lxpanel. The distribution is also notable for including the framework Site Specific Browser<\/a><\/noindex>, allowing web applications to function as standalone programs. The set of X-Apps (text editor Xed, photo manager Pix, multimedia player Xplayer, document viewer Xreader, image viewer Xviewer) developed by the Linux Mint project is available from the repositories. The installation size ISO image<\/a><\/noindex> 1.4 GB.<\/p>\n

  • The components of the distribution are synchronized with Ubuntu 18.04.2, including the updated Linux kernel 4.18.0-18, X.Org Server 1.20.1, Mesa 18.2, and drivers;\n
  • Automatic installation of proprietary NVIDIA drivers is ensured if the \"Install third party drivers\/software\" option is selected in the installer.\n
  • In the component Ice<\/a><\/noindex> (6.0.2), which provides isolated launching of web applications as separate programs, support for isolated profiles for Chromium, Chrome, and Vivaldi SSB (Site Specific Browser) has been added. For Firefox, bookmarks have been added to simplify the installation of add-ons and changing settings;\n
  • A new utility for configuring DPI for displaying system fonts has been added;\n
  • New versions of the file manager Nemo 4.0.6, application installer mintinstall 7.9.7, USB drive formatting tool mintstick 1.39, system info utility neofetch 6.0.1, text editor xed 2.0.2, multimedia player xplayer 2.0.2, and image viewer xviewer 2.0.2 have been carried over from Linux Mint;\n
  • The xreader from Linux Mint has been employed instead of evince for document viewing;\n
  • Packages light-locker and light-locker-settings have been used instead of i3lock for screen locking;\n
  • The default supply includes network-manager-pptp-gnome, and network-manager-openvpn-gnome has been added to the repository;\n
  • A new panel settings profile Peppermint-10 has been added in xfce-panel-switch;\n
  • New GTK themes with different color designs have been added. The xfwm4 theme has been aligned with the GTK themes;\n
