Mozilla developers have made the decision<\/a><\/noindex> disable file processing by default userContent.css<\/a><\/noindex> and userChrome.css<\/a><\/noindex>, allowing users to override the design of websites or the Firefox interface. The reason for the default disabling is to reduce browser startup time. Users rarely modify behavior through userContent.css and userChrome.css, and loading CSS data consumes additional resources (optimization removes unnecessary disk access). <\/p>\n

To restore the processing of userChrome.css and userContent.css in about:config, the setting 'toolkit.legacyUserProfileCustomizations.stylesheets' has been added to about:config.
\nThe change is planned to take effect in the release of Firefox 69, scheduled for September 3. Additionally, Firefox 68 will include a check that automatically enables the 'toolkit.legacyUserProfileCustomizations.stylesheets' option if one of the aforementioned files is present in the profile directory. Thus, users who already use userChrome.css or userContent.css will not need to make any manual changes.<\/p>\n
