Available<\/a><\/noindex> update (3.6) of the free font set Inter<\/a><\/noindex>, specifically designed for use in user interfaces. The font is optimized for high character clarity at small and medium sizes (less than 12px) when displayed on computer screens. The original font texts is distributed<\/a><\/noindex> are under a free license SIL Open Font License<\/a><\/noindex>, allowing unlimited modification of the font, including for commercial purposes, printing, and use on websites. <\/p>\n

The set includes more than 2,000 glyphs. There are 9 weight options (considering italics, a total of 18 styles). It supports a Cyrillic character set. The project is developed by Rasmus Andersson, one of the founders<\/a><\/noindex> of Spotify (responsible for design and serving as art director), who has also worked at Dropbox and Facebook.<\/p>\n

The set supports 31 OpenType extensions, including character autocorrection based on the surrounding context (for example, two symbols \u00ab->\u00bb are displayed as a single arrow), tnum mode (outputting numbers with fixed character width), sups, numr, and dnom modes (various forms of superscripts and subscripts), frac mode (normalization of fractions like 1\/3), case mode (aligning glyphs based on character case, for example, the symbol \u00ab*\u00bb in \u00ab*A\u00bb and \u00ab*a\u00bb will be perfectly centered), alternative numeral styles (for example, several variations for \u00ab4\u00bb, zero with and without a strike-through), etc.<\/p>\n

The font is available both as traditional font files divided by style (Bold Italic, Medium, etc.) and in the variable font format OpenType, where the weight, width, and other stylistic characteristics of the glyph can be varied freely. The font is adapted for web use and is available<\/a><\/noindex> also in the woff2 format (for faster direct loading, CloudFlare CDN is used). <\/p>\n
