It just so happened that all this generational hype passed me by. So, when I was told that managing teams requires considering their affiliation with a particular letter of the Latin alphabet, I was a bit taken aback (\"surprised,\" \"astonished,\" \"shocked,\" \"flabbergasted,\" etc., depending on which generation you belong to).<\/a><\/noindex> <\/p>\n

\nIt's hard to deny the fact that each generation has its own heroes and ideals. Evgeniya Shamis, CEO of Sherpa S Pro, founder and coordinator of RuGenerations \u2014 the Russian school of the Theory of Generations, presented the following generational classification.<\/p>\n

\nIf we exaggerate, each generation has a specific set of behavioral traits. For example, people from Generation X want to prove their uniqueness everywhere and always, Generation Y seeks success, while Generation Z cares about comfort, convenience, and security. They also demand interesting and short \"clips,\" simplicity, and quick comprehension of everything. It\u2019s no coincidence that voice messages in messengers, various bots, scripts, masks, neural networks, and other attributes of digital automation in routine processes have gained traction among them.<\/p>\n

A friend of mine posted on Facebook a conversation with one of her employees. The person simply didn\u2019t show up for a well-paying office job. The reasons given were insomnia and winter. <\/p>\n

\nIn the comments to the post, there were some truly remarkable stories from the lives of modern occupants of class A offices.<\/p>\n

\nHas the world really changed, and do millennials now dominate the job market? When I watched this humorous video on YouTube (see below), I thought it was an excellent satirical hyperbole. But after everything I\u2019ve described, I\u2019m not surprised by anything.<\/p>\n

\nFrom my side, I\u2019d like to share a personal opinion \"from under the rock\" on the topic at hand. I don\u2019t claim to have the final truth and, by no means, do I doubt the generational theory, but I still believe that Maslow's hierarchy of needs firmly stands on its foundation. <\/p>\n

The needs for food, water, and shelter are relevant for generations X, Y, and Z. Regardless of what we call each other, we cannot escape the essentials of warmth and sustenance. This leads me to believe that when situations arise like the ones described above, it's important to address the issue decisively, bypassing the philosophical contemplation on what to do with this \"Y\". There's a hypothesis\u2014boldly send it to \"X\". <\/p>\n
