As you may remember, at the end of 2017, a new free solution for service providers, Veeam Availability Console, was released, which we discussed in our blog<\/a><\/noindex>. With this console, service providers can remotely manage and monitor the protection of virtual, physical, and cloud user infrastructures where Veeam solutions operate. The product quickly gained recognition, and subsequently, a second version was released, but our engineers didn't rest on their laurels and at the end of June prepared the first update U1 for Veeam Availability Console 2.0. That will be the focus of my talk today, so welcome under the cut.<\/p>\n

New scaling capabilities<\/h1>\n

\nThanks to these features, the solution can now operate with optimal performance, managing up to 10,000 Veeam Agents and up to 600 Veeam Backup & Replication servers (considering that each server protects up to 150-200 machines). <\/p>\n

New access control capabilities<\/h1>\n

\nThose who plan to delegate access to Veeam Availability Console without granting employees broad rights (for example, local administrator rights) can now assign that employee the role of an operator Portal Operator<\/i>. This role allows for management and monitoring operations within the Veeam Availability Console, but excludes access to configuration settings. More details about the role settings Portal Operator<\/i> can be read here<\/a><\/noindex>.<\/p>\n

Integration with ConnectWise Manage<\/h1>\n

\nNow users of ConnectWise Manage will gain access to management, monitoring, and billing capabilities implemented in Veeam Availability Console. Integration is enabled by the ConnectWise Manage plugin, which can be found in the Veeam Availability Console interface under the Plugins Library<\/b>. The plugin allows data transfer between the two products using so-called integration features \u2013 you can characterize them as entry-exit points for specific types of data that you want to synchronize. (I guess I will refer to them as features, especially since that\u2019s the name used in the documentation.) More on them later, but for now, let\u2019s figure out how to enable integration with ConnectWise Manage.<\/p>\n

Step 1: Generate API Key<\/h3>\n

  1. Launch the ConnectWise Manager desktop client.
    \nNote:<\/i> The account you will log into must have the necessary rights, as specified     here<\/a><\/noindex>.<\/li>\n
  2. In the upper right corner, select My account<\/b>.<\/li>\n
  3. On the tab API Keys<\/b> click New Item<\/b>.<\/li>\n
  4. Enter a description for the new key in the field Description<\/b>, click Save<\/b>.<\/li>\n
  5. New keys (public and private) will be displayed; they need to be copied and saved in a secure place.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Step 2: Configure plugin connection<\/h3>\n

    1. Launch the Veeam Availability Console; the account you will log in with must have the role of Portal Administrator<\/i>.<\/li>\n

    3. In the left panel, select Plugin Library<\/b> and click on ConnectWise Manage<\/b>.<\/li>\n
