Kommersant newspaper reported<\/a><\/noindex> Mobile Inform Group plans to release smartphones and tablets in September, equipped with the Astra Linux operating system, classified as industrial devices designed for operation in harsh conditions. No details regarding the software specifications have been disclosed yet, except for its certification by the Ministry of Defense, FSTEC, and FSB for processing information up to the level of \"special importance.\"<\/p>\n

Astra Linux for desktop systems is a build of the Debian distribution. It is unclear whether the smartphone version will be based on Debian with an adapted Fly shell for small touchscreen displays or if a recompiled version of Android, Tizen, or webOS<\/a><\/noindex>will be offered under the Astra Linux brand. The Fly shell is a proprietary development built on the Qt framework. Among the available mobile device shells for Debian, there may also be adaptations of the projects developed for the GNOME Mobile<\/a><\/noindex> and UBPorts<\/a><\/noindex>, being developed<\/a><\/noindex> for the Librem 5 smartphone.<\/p>\n

Regarding the hardware components, the smartphone shipped with Astra Linux MIG C55AL<\/a><\/noindex> will feature a 5.5-inch screen with a resolution of 1920*1080 (tablets MIG T8AL<\/a><\/noindex> and MIG T10AL<\/a><\/noindex> respectively 8 and 10 inches), SoC Qualcomm SDM632 1.8 GHz, 8 cores, 4 GB RAM, 64 GB internal storage, 4000mAh battery. The battery life is claimed to be 10\u201312 hours at temperatures ranging from -20\u00b0C to +60\u00b0C and four to five hours at temperatures up to -30\u00b0C.
