As is known, Microsoft is currently developing the Edge browser based on Chromium, aiming to offer users and companies numerous tools, including a compatibility mode with Internet Explorer. This is expected to help corporate users utilize existing and legacy services in the new browser.<\/p>\n

However, the developers in Redmond do not intend to completely remove Internet Explorer from Windows 10. This applies to all editions of the OS \u2014 from home to enterprise. Moreover, the old browser will continue to be supported, as it has been before. This refers to IE11.<\/p>\n

The reason for this is simple. Internet Explorer is present in almost all versions of Windows, and many government organizations, banks, and so on still use programs and services strictly written for it. Interestingly, Internet Explorer is more popular than the old version of Microsoft Edge (which was based on the EdgeHTML engine), and most of its users are still on Windows 7. Everyone else has opted for more modern alternatives like Chrome, Firefox, and others.<\/p>\n

Overall, Microsoft is doing what it usually executes well. Namely, pulling the future into all the compatibility issues for its products and others. Although it would be more logical to release standalone versions of Internet Explorer to be installed on any PC regardless of the operating system used.
