After more than a year of development, the release of the Linux distribution Kwort 4.3.4<\/a><\/noindex>, based on the project's work CRUX<\/a><\/noindex> and offering a minimalist user environment based on the Openbox window manager. Kwort differs from CRUX by using its own package manager kpkg<\/a><\/noindex>, which allows the installation of binary packages from the project's repository. Kwort also develops its own set of GUI applications for configuration (Kwort user manager for user management, Kwort network manager for network setup). The size is ISO image<\/a><\/noindex> 875 MB.<\/p>\n

The new release is notable for including the PulseAudio sound server and the bluez5 Bluetooth stack. Updated package versions include Linux kernel 4.19.46, glibc 2.28, gcc 8.3.0, binutils 2.32, kpkg 130, Chrome: 75, Firefox 67.0.2, Brave 0.68.50. The Kwort-choosers package has been replaced with kwort-tools and kwort-mixer (allowing sound backend switching between alsa and pulseaudio).
