\nToday, many companies actively use not only computers but also mobile devices and laptops in their operations. This raises the issue of managing these devices using a unified solution. Sophos Mobile<\/a><\/noindex> successfully addresses this task and opens up great opportunities for the administrator:<\/p>\n

    A Bit of History<\/h2>\n

    \nBefore moving on to the technical side of ensuring the security of mobile devices, it is essential to clarify how the solution from Sophos MDM (Mobile Device Management) became a UEM (Unified Endpoint Management) solution and briefly explain the essence of both technologies.<\/p>\n

    In 2010, the Sophos Mobile MDM solution was released. It allowed for the management of mobile devices and did not support other platforms such as PCs and laptops. Among the functional capabilities were: installation and removal of applications, phone lock, factory reset, etc.<\/p>\n

    In 2015, several more technologies were added to MDM: MAM (Mobile Application Management) and MCM (Mobile Content Management). The MAM technology allows for the management of corporate mobile applications, while MCM technology enables management of access to corporate email and corporate content.<\/p>\n

    In 2018, Sophos Mobile began supporting the MacOS and Windows operating systems through APIs provided by these OS. Managing computers became as easy and unified as mobile devices, thus transforming the solution into a unified management platform - UEM.<\/p>\n

    The BYOD Concept and Sophos Container<\/h2>\n
