Microsoft is working on a new global media control for its Edge browser based on Chromium. Reportedly, the control can be activated by clicking the \"Media\" button in the address bar, will be able to display <\/a><\/noindex>not just the list of audio or video files currently playing, but also other active media sessions which can then be switched and managed individually.<\/p>\n

So far, this is an experimental feature that is still in the commit stage, and it's unclear whether it will make it to release. However, the function looks promising as it will provide more flexible playback control.<\/p>\n

Let\u2019s recall that in the latest Windows 10 build for Fast Ring insiders, code was found indicating the possible appearance of the new Microsoft Edge in the \"ten\". There is talk the release 20H1, which is set to launch next spring, and is currently being tested.<\/a><\/noindex> It is expected that in this version, Chromium-based Microsoft Edge will become the default browser in the operating system from Redmond.
