The Cisco certification program has been around for 26 years (it was founded in 1993). Many are familiar with the engineering certification line including CCNA, CCNP, and CCIE. This year, the program has been expanded to include certifications for developers, namely DevNet Associate, DevNet Specialist, DevNet Professional, and DevNet Expert.<\/p>\n

So, what do we have regarding the new certifications:<\/p>\n

  1. Like the engineering certifications, there are four levels of DevNet certifications \u2014 Associate, Specialist, Professional, and Expert. <\/li>\n
  2. Engineering certifications are supplemented with modules focused on automation\/programming.<\/li>\n
  3. The developer certifications include a module related to the fundamentals of network programmability.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Cisco DevNet Associate<\/h3>\n

    <\/p>\n

    Target Audience:
    \nFor young professionals, specifically junior specialists ranging from programmers and SRE\/DevOps to testers and automation engineers. <\/p>\n

    <\/p>\n

    Exam DEVASC 200-901<\/a><\/noindex> will cover both the basics of application development (knowledge of git, fundamentals of Python) as well as skills in using Cisco's hardware\/solutions APIs.
    \nAs previously mentioned, the certifications also include a module on the fundamentals of network programming (15% of the total content).<\/p>\n

    Cisco DevNet Specialist<\/h3>\n

    <\/p>\n

    Target Audience:
    \nProfessionals with experience in one of the areas, ranging from 3 to 5 years.
    \nDevelopers with practical experience in developing and supporting applications built on Cisco platforms.<\/p>\n

    In this certification, you can choose one or more of the specializations listed below, each with its corresponding exam.
