The development of Antergos will be continued by a new team of developers under the name Endeavour OS<\/a><\/noindex>.<\/p>\n

For download has been prepared<\/a><\/noindex> the first release of Endeavour OS (1.4 GB<\/a><\/noindex>), providing a simple installer for setting up a basic Arch Linux environment with the Xfce desktop by default and the option to install one of 9 standard desktops based on i3-wm, Openbox, Mate, Cinnamon, GNOME, Deepin, Budgie, and KDE. <\/p>\n

The environment of each desktop corresponds to the standard setup offered by the developers of the chosen desktop, without additional pre-installed programs, which users are recommended to select from the repository according to their preferences. Thus, Endeavour OS allows users to install Arch Linux with the necessary desktop in the way it was intended by its developers, without unnecessary complications.<\/p>\n

Recall that, at one time, the Antergos project continued the development of the Cinnarch distribution after its transition from Cinnamon to GNOME due to the use of part of the word Cinnamon in the distribution name. Antergos was built on the Arch Linux package base and offered a classical user environment in the style of GNOME 2, initially formed using enhancements to GNOME 3, which was later replaced with MATE (the option to install Cinnamon was also reinstated later). The project aimed to create a more user-friendly and easy-to-use edition of Arch Linux suitable for installation by a wide audience of users.<\/p>\n
