In a recent update (2.3-3ubuntu9.4<\/a><\/noindex>) in Ubuntu 18.04 the<\/a><\/noindex> normal operation of the system DKMS<\/a><\/noindex> (Dynamic Kernel Module Support), used to build third-party kernel modules after a Linux kernel update. <\/p>\n

A sign of the problem is the output of the message
\n\u00ab\/usr\/sbin\/dkms: line### find_module: command not found\u00bb
\nduring the manual installation of modules, or suspiciously differing sizes of initrd.*.dkms and the newly created initrd (this can be checked by users of unattended-upgrade). It is important that this issue does not cause the package script to stop and report an error, without affecting other initrd. <\/p>\n

To test an already introduced<\/a><\/noindex> fixed version of the dkms package. To avoid issues when using DKMS before the fix is released in stable package versions, it is recommended to temporarily disable the automatic package update script.<\/p>\n
