The developers of the Czech company Avast Software announced the release of an updated web browser, Secure Browser, built on the source code of the open-source Chromium project, aimed at ensuring user security while working on the global network.<\/p>\n

The new version of Avast Secure Browser, codenamed Zermatt, has introduced tools to optimize the use of RAM and CPU, as well as a feature called «Extend Battery Life». In both cases, the program's algorithms manage inactive tabs (pausing running web applications and scripts, lowering priority, unloading from the computer's memory, etc.), which positively impact the web browser's performance and the laptop's battery life. It is claimed that the browser now uses 50% less RAM and can increase the mobile PC's battery life by 20%.<\/p>\n

Among other changes, the updated Avast Secure Browser includes integrated tools for checking user data for leaks and compromises (the so-called Avast Hack Check feature) and enhanced Anti-Fingerprinting tools for tracking and targeting protection.
