Chaos Constructions 2019<\/h3>\n

\nOn August 24-25, traditionally in the last weekend of summer, the computer festival Chaos Constructions 2019 will take place in St. Petersburg. The conference within the festival will feature over 60 presentations. Originally, the festival was dedicated to the demoscene, and the computers that are now considered retro were the most advanced at that time. It all began in 1995 with the ENLiGHT festival, organized by Petr Sobolev (frog). Back then, there was hardly any system administration or internet, and the first programmers were creating code that produced sounds and animations. Pioneers gathered once a year under one roof to showcase their works and share code, which is still available for viewing and studying at ftp.cc.org.ru<\/a><\/noindex>, where you can explore works from all these years. From the ENLiGHT demoparty, the computer festival Chaos Constructions emerged. In 1999, the event was held for the first time under its new name, and gradually the festival featured exhibitions from enthusiast collections. Now this exhibition is known as a union RTS<\/a><\/noindex>, which you can visit in various cities across Russia, both at major festivals and smaller events.<\/p>\n

\nChaos Constructions is part of the global demoscene \u2014 https:\/\/www.demoparty.net<\/a><\/noindex>, with most events taking place in Europe, while similar gatherings of like-minded individuals in Russia are closing one after another due to lack of commercial support. This summer, unfortunately, marked the last DiHalt party in Nizhny Novgorod. In Kazan, a group of enthusiasts decided to revive the demoparty Cafe<\/a><\/noindex>, which hasn't taken place for over a decade.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

Currently, submissions can be made to the festival competitions for graphics, music, and animation programming across different platforms: https:\/\/c-c.ru\/compos<\/a><\/noindex>, to view works at the festival, vote for the best, and participate in the award ceremony. Don't forget to take part in the hackathon from Yandex, where you need to come up with gaming skills for the voice assistant Alice \u2014 participation can be as a team or individually. Organizers will select 7 best skills from the submissions and invite their authors to the hackathon. Applications are accepted until noon on August 22. To participate in the hackathon, you need to develop a gaming skill for Alice in advance and submit an application<\/a><\/noindex>You can create a quiz, quest, simulator, game for kids and more, be it a card game, an intellectual challenge, a multiplayer game, or any other type of game. It needs to be published in Alice's Skills Catalog<\/a><\/noindex> or, if the skill is private, send a link to its page in the developer's personal account<\/a><\/noindex>.\u00a0<\/p>\n

This year, our festival's exhibition area will be joined by representatives from the Open Laboratory of Ideas and Methods (OLYMP<\/a><\/noindex>). Enthusiasts from fields ranging from instrumentation, programming, and optics to design and pedagogy will showcase their developments. A retro computer exhibition, as well as a retro television studio from the 90s, will immerse you in the technical novelties of the 90s. \nHackZone is a cozy traditional corner for talks on security, both software and hardware.
