Hello, dear readers!<\/p>\n

I am writing to you in a state of profound intoxication (over 3 months), from which I cannot escape. The doses \u2014 about 1 to 1.5 liters of strong alcohol and one or two bottles of dry wine per day. I was in a psychiatric clinic for about a month a year ago \u2014 I couldn't handle the breakdown of my family and fell apart. They performed a so-called 'coding' through injection. After the drug is administered, alcohol cannot be consumed or sniffed \u2014 it does not process. A distinctive feature, excuse me \u2014 the smell of urine. Sharp, like vinegar. Disgusting.<\/p>\n

Here\u2019s why I write \u2014 I am not asking for help or condolences. I want to share what altered consciousness is like. I\u2019ve read a couple of articles on this topic, including on Habr, it seems somewhere it was, but it\u2019s probably individual.<\/p>\n

So, in points:

  1. Loss of one\u2019s own 'I'. You become some kind of universal person, a member of society, with philosophical ideas, but you won't lift a finger to really do something.<\/li>\n
  2. Pathological craving for comfort. You always need to be warm, you pay very close attention to not dirtying your body, and as much as possible your clothes.<\/li>\n
  3. Loss of some sensory perceptions and intensification of others. In my case \u2014 the sense of smell sharply (almost completely) disappears, vision significantly worsens, but hearing greatly improves \u2014 and I didn't hear very well before. Now, in this altered state, you can hear, and clearly, the conversations in the children's playground 200 meters from the house.<\/li>\n
  4. The trick is that, as I understand it, this is a problem for all alcoholics. But at this stage, it reaches such a degree that... how can I explain it... a person who doesn't know you (without sensing the terrible smell coming from you) won't be able to distinguish you from a sober person. At the slightest hint of danger, you immediately turn into a very cunning type. Your tongue isn\u2019t tied, your walk is steady, and you can engage in a reasonable conversation on trivial topics. But! An interesting point \u2014 any dull but unconventional question leaves you in a prolonged stupor. It's immediately noticeable that something is off with you\u2026<\/li>\n
  5. The main state is 'drank \u2014 laid down.' You really hope that no uncomfortable person will call you. But there are also moments of hyperactivity \u2014 you imagine playing football in the yard, running, or boxing.<\/li>\n
  6. You perform typical template actions without particular problems, but any simple non-standard task puts you in a bind, which you weakly retreat from.<\/li>\n
  7. Very frequent, practically every couple of hours \u2014 awful tachycardia.<\/li>\n
  8. There is an absence of the gag reflex. You can chase cognac with kefir, eat a couple of cucumbers \u2014 nothing\u2026<\/li>\n
  9. Without a chaser \u2014 any strong alcohol, even dry wine, is impossible to drink.<\/li>\n
  10. Insomnia. The concept of 'sleep' in its usual sense simply doesn't exist. There are some shut-downs for an hour or an hour and a half (that's not bad), more often for 30-40 minutes. Whether it\u2019s day or night. If you manage to nap for four hours \u2014 it feels like being reborn. For two minutes. As the first thing you do is drink again. There\u2019s no willpower to break this chain.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    \nWhy am I writing? Maybe it will be of some use to medicine. Although, as far as I know, the third stage related to personality breakdown is irreversible.<\/p>\n
